Microstrategy executive chairman Michael Saylor stated that his company recently bought 301 bitcoin at an average price $19,851 per currency. Saylor explained that Microstrategy's balance sheet currently holds 130,000 bitcoins, making it the largest bitcoin stash held by any publicly traded business.
Microstrategy acquires more Bitcoin at an average price of $19,851 per coin
Microstrategy purchased 301 BTC from Michael Saylor for $6 million. The average price per coin was $19,851. Microstrategy has not purchased bitcoin in a while. The last time the company acquired BTC was at June's end. The company purchased "approximately480 bitcoins" for $10.0 million cash.
Microstrategy increased its BTC stash to 129,699 Bitcoin with the purchase of June 28. The 301 bitcoins acquired this week make the company's total bitcoin count even higher at 130,000 BTC. Saylor posted Tuesday that Microstrategy had purchased an additional 301 Bitcoins at a price average of $19.851 per. The executive chairman of Microstrategy added:
Microstrategy has 130,000 Bitcoins, which were acquired for $3.98 Billion at an average bitcoin price of $30.639
There are currently no publicly traded companies that have as many bitcoins (BTC), as Saylor's Microstrategy. The trustee at the Mt Gox bankruptcy trial is believed to have 141,686 BTC, which will be distributed to creditors at some time. Microstrategy is second with around 40,000 BTC in its balance sheet. Galaxy Digital Holdings, which is publicly traded, is third.
Private entities have two caches of BTC that are larger than Microstrategy's. One is the Mt Gox stash. According to the current bitcoin treasury statistics, Block.one, which is responsible for EOS, has approximately 140,000 BTC. Many people have commented on the recent purchase by Microstrategy of 301 Bitcoin.
